dr. ryan glassDr. Ryan Glass first moved to New Orleans from Phoenix, AZ in 1996 to attend Tulane University Medical School. After finishing in the top quartile of his class, he elected to remain at Tulane for a general surgery internship and subsequent urology residency. While at Tulane, Dr. Ryan Glass, gained extensive training in minimally invasive surgical techniques including da Vinci robotic prostatectomy. After completing his residency in June, 2005, he was set to begin practice in New Orleans East until hurricane Katrina changed his plans abruptly. Making the best of the situation, Dr. Ryan Glass joined Academic Urologists at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. While there, he quickly began taking care of complex urologic cases and started the robotic surgery program at Erlanger. Eager to return to New Orleans, where his wife was in residency at the Ochsner Clinic, Dr. Glass joined New Orleans Urology Specialists in November, 2006.

Dr. Ryan Glass is certified by the American Board of Urology and specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of both malignant and benign urologic conditions. He is proficient at da Vinci robotic prostatectomy and proctors for Intuitive Surgical Inc. to teach other urologists the technique. He is active in the urologic community as a member of the New Orleans Urologic Society, the Louisiana Urologic Association and American Urology Association. He takes an active role in resident education as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at Tulane University Medical School.

On a personal note, Dr. Ryan Glass is married to Dr. Amalia Decomas who is completing her Orthopedic residency at Ochsner. They live in Uptown New Orleans with their two dogs, an English and a French bulldog. Dr. Glass enjoys playing golf, snow skiing, surfing and traveling.
